What your annual subscription includes, and the small print in plain English - the licence to display your recognition, how banners and renewals work, and the few situations where we would amend or withdraw a recognition. Recognition is earned from published evidence and cannot be bought.

These terms apply when a school, or a multi-academy trust, local authority or diocese on a school's behalf, takes out a paid WhatSchool Celebrates subscription. Viewing your recognition is free and is not a purchase.
By subscribing you agree to these terms. If you are ordering on behalf of a trust, local authority or diocese, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for each school in your order.
An annual subscription is £79 per school + VAT. It includes: a printed certificate and A3 poster posted to your school every year; digital badges, certificate, poster and approved wording that update through the year as new data is published; hosted web badges for your website; a public verification page and your confirmed placings; and a licence to display the recognition while your subscription is current.
School-gate banners are an optional add-on, priced per school: £69 + VAT for a school's first banner (which we design) and £39 + VAT for each additional banner for that same school, up to six. Banners are 1.83m × 0.91m premium heavy-duty 16oz UV print, block-out, and come with free zip ties. Across a trust, local authority or diocese order, this per-school pricing applies to each school independently, so each school's first banner is £69. While your subscription is current you can add banners at any time by emailing hello@celebrateschools.com.
Prices are shown ex-VAT; UK VAT is added at checkout. Recognition is identified from published data and fair comparisons. It cannot be bought: subscribing unlocks the official materials and the right to display recognition your school has already earned. It is not an Ofsted inspection judgement or a full assessment of school quality.
The WhatSchool and WhatSchool Celebrates names, logos, badge designs, certificate and poster designs, the recognition methodology and all related marks and materials are owned by WhatSchool and remain our property at all times.
On subscribing we grant your school a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to display the WhatSchool Celebrates name, badges and materials for the recognition you have confirmed, while your subscription is current. You may use them on your own school communications (site, prospectus, newsletters, signage, social media) to show the recognition your school has earned. You may not alter the marks, imply an endorsement beyond the specific recognition, sub-licence them, or use them after the licence ends.
Web badges for your website are hosted by WhatSchool and embedded using the code we provide, which links each badge to your public verification page. That link is part of the licence and must remain in place. Because we host the badge files, each badge always shows your current verification status; if your subscription ends, the badge display changes to reflect that.
School-gate banners remain the property of WhatSchool. Your fee licenses you to display them while your subscription is current.
If your school no longer holds a current WhatSchool Celebrates subscription, WhatSchool may ask for the banners to be returned or taken down. We would always give reasonable notice.
Your subscription runs for the school year of your school's country. In England the school year ends on 31 August. A school subscribing during 2026 has the remainder of the current school year included at no extra charge, so its first paid year is 2026/27 and its subscription runs to 31 August 2027.
We invoice each following year's renewal by 15 June, payable by 15 July, so that any query or failed payment can be settled before the summer holidays. Renewal is at the then-current annual fee, and there is no separate second-year discount. We do not automatically charge your card for renewals.
If a renewal is not paid, the subscription and the licence to display the recognition lapse: your certificate, poster, badges and verification page are no longer licensed for display, the hosted web badges show as expired, and we may ask for any banners to be taken down. Nothing further is charged, and you can renew again at any time.
We correct factual errors promptly - data matching, school details, mergers or closures. Where the underlying published figures are amended at source, we update the recognition to match.
We may withdraw a recognition, and the licence to display it, where there has been a significant event connected with the school that could reasonably call into question WhatSchool's association with it, or where there has been a significant and material change in the published results on which the recognition was based such that the recognition can no longer be fairly claimed. In these cases the verification page will show the recognition as amended or withdrawn, and we may ask for materials, including banners, to be taken down. We will act reasonably and explain our decision.
Prices are ex-VAT; UK VAT is added at checkout. Payment is by card, or by invoice for trusts, local authorities, dioceses and schools that need a purchase order. Your subscription and the licence take effect once the first payment (or an accepted invoice) is confirmed. Renewals are invoiced as set out in section 5.
If you change your mind about a card order before your materials have been produced, contact us and we will cancel and refund the un-produced items. Once printed materials have been produced or dispatched they cannot be refunded, other than where they are faulty. You can choose not to renew at any time by telling us or by not settling the renewal invoice.
Every recognition is built only from information already published about schools, read in the context each school works in. We do not seek or use pupil-level personal data. You can ask us to review, correct or remove a recognition at any time and we can suppress it while we look.
